Joan Cameron Mitchell was born and educated in Scotland. She emigrated and taught elementary school in Canada and the USA. While teaching in Colorado Springs, she met and married Army Lieutenant John Mitchell. After retiring in 1990, they made their home in this lovely city in the Rockies. Joan is an artist and a member of PEN women.
